Petróleo de Texas sube un marginal 0.03% y cierra a US$106.28 por barril
Nueva York.- El petróleo de Texas cerró este miércoles con una subida marginal del 0.03% y terminó en 106.28 dólares por barril, lo que supone por segunda sesión consecutiva su mayor precio desde mayo después del fracaso de la última misión especial a Irán del Organismo Internacional de la Energía Atómica (OIEA).
Al final de la sesión en la Bolsa Mercantil de Nueva York (Nymex), los contratos de futuros del Petróleo Intermedio de Texas (WTI) para entrega en abril, que a partir de hoy se toman como referencia, sumaron 3 centavos al precio de cierre del martes de los que son para entrega en ese mismo mes.
El crudo de referencia en Estados Unidos se volvió a colocar así a su cota más elevada desde el 4 de mayo de 2011, cuando cerró en 109.24 dólares por barril influido por el estallido de varias revueltas populares en países productores del norte de África y Oriente Medio.
Un día más, el principal factor para el encarecimiento del crudo de Texas fue la escalada de la tensión entre Irán y Occidente, sobre todo después de que Irán negara a la OIEA el permiso para visitar su polémica instalación militar cerca de Teherán, donde se sospechan actividades relacionadas con un programa nuclear bélico.
Una misión especial de alto rango del OIEA, liderada por su director adjunto para salvaguardas (controles), Herman Nackaerts, volvió hoy a Viena con las manos vacías tras dos días de intensas negociaciones en Teherán.
El desafío iraní a la comunidad internacional se produce después de que el país amenazara con ampliar a otros países de la Unión Europea la suspensión de exportaciones de petróleo que ya ha decretado para Francia y Reino Unido como represalia a las sanciones impuestas por la Unión Europea (UE) a raíz de su programa nuclear.
El cuarto mayor productor mundial de «oro negro» ya comunicó este miércoles a las principales petroleras de capital francés y británico las condiciones para poder comprar crudo de Irán, entre ellas firmar contratos de dos a cinco años y no enviar el crudo a refinerías de Francia y Reino Unido.
La tensión entre Irán y Occidente también afectó a la cotización de los contratos de gasolina con vencimiento en marzo, que sumaron 1 centavo hasta los 3.08 dólares por galón (3.78 litros), así como a los de gasóleo para calefacción también para entrega ese mes, que añadieron 4 centavos hasta 3.27 dólares por galón.
Por su parte, los contratos de gas natural con vencimiento en marzo ascendieron 2 centavos y terminaron la sesión en 2.64 dólares por cada mil pies cúbicos. EFE
