Medina sostiene FMI es “responsable” de crisis sector eléctrico dominicano
Santo Domingo, RD.- El presidente Danilo Medina consideró que el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI) es el “responsable fundamental” de la crisis financiera del sector eléctrico dominicano.
Según el mandatario, los técnicos del organismo multilateral siempre han creído que el problema energético se resuelve por la vía de subir los cobros, mejorar las pérdidas técnicas y disminuir el robo.
Añadió que para la solución del problema “hay intereses en el sector eléctrico que necesitan ser tratados. No podemos seguir con este modelo de negocio eléctrico. Hay que tratarlo y lo haremos a través de un pacto eléctrico».
Dijo que nadie subirá los cobros con una varita mágica, y que los datos del sector eléctrico establecen que cada mes las empresas distribuidoras (EDES) compran US$190 millones en energía, pero solo cobran US$120, de los que US$35 millones deben ir a gastos administrativos y otros compromisos.
Enfatizó que con esos datos es lógico que el sector registre pérdidas por encima de los US$1,200 millones al año.
“El problema eléctrico no es de Celso Marranzini, César Sánchez, Temístocles Montás, Rubén Bichara o de Radhamés Segura, el tema es estructural, que debemos abordar. Les pido que lo tratemos, que no nos llevemos del cuento de que esto es solo pérdidas”, afirmó.
En opinión del mandatario, hay que comenzar a atacar la estructura de negocios del sistema eléctrico, ya que no es cierto que todo esté relacionado, con las pérdidas de las distribuidoras de electricidad.
Puntualizó que hay grandes problemas que se enfrentan en la compra y venta de la energía, los que dijo estar dispuesto a enfrentar, ya que si no se atacan ahora, no habrá posibilidad de solución.
