Cameron pedirá a la UE una mayor desregulación para las pequeñas empresas
Bruselas.- El primer ministro británico, David Cameron, anunció hoy que defenderá ante el resto de líderes de la Unión un «serio esfuerzo de desregulación» que permita a las pequeñas empresas generar empleos y crecimiento.
«Necesitamos un serio esfuerzo de desregulación, especialmente en los pequeños negocios, para que puedan crear los empleos y el crecimiento que necesitamos», dijo Cameron a su llegada a la cumbre de jefes de Estado y de Gobierno de los Veintisiete.
Según el primer ministro británico, la prioridad de la cita debe ser discutir «seriamente» sobre crecimiento.
Para lograr ese relanzamiento de la economía, Londres propone además «completar el mercado interior» de la UE y «firmar acuerdos comerciales con las partes del mundo que crecen más rápidamente».
«Esa es la agenda que defenderé y espero encontrar mucho apoyo», aseguró a los periodistas en unas breves declaraciones.
Por su parte, la primera ministra danesa, Helle Thorning-Schmidt, subrayó hoy la necesidad de mantener unas cuentas públicas «equilibradas» y, al mismo tiempo, no olvidar el crecimiento y el empleo.
«Es posible hacer las dos cosas al mismo tiempo», aseguró la socialdemócrata Thorning-Schimdt, quien recalcó que ambas ideas son «dos caras de la misma moneda».
También defendió ese enfoque el primer ministro belga, Elio Di Rupo.
«Hay que tener disciplina y a la vez dar esperanza con un programa de relanzamiento económico», señaló el político, también socialista.
Di Rupo subrayó que «ni los ciudadanos ni los gobiernos son responsables de la crisis, es el mundo financiero el que está en el origen, pero las cosas son como son: no podemos dejar que nuestras finanzas públicas se degraden y debemos tener disciplina».
Preguntado por la huelga general que se lleva a cabo hoy en Bélgica para protestar contra las medidas de austeridad, el primer ministro se limitó a señalar que «la huelga es una realidad» y que «lo importante es mantener el diálogo social entre patronal y sindicatos». EFE
