Ponen a circular obra “Compadre Padre Juan” en Moca
Moca, Provincia Espaillat, RD.- Recibiendo el apoyo de la Oficina de Gestión Senatorial de Espaillat, del senador José Rafael Vargas, se puso en circulación el libro “Compadre Padre Juan” de la autoría de Rosalina Perdomo Montalvo en un bonito acto celebrado en el teatro Don Bosco de Moca.
La obra que contiene 172 páginas de testimonios del padre Juan Montalvo Arzeno, es una forma de dar a conocer las convicciones y la vida ejemplar de un dominicano que en apenas 11 años de trabajo apostólico pos-sacerdotal en el país, dejó una cosecha que corresponde a una larga vida como destacara el doctor Luis Emilio Montalvo.
La sobrina del padre Juan Montalvo (la joven Rosalina Montalvo), destacó en la actividad que dos de los principales motivos para que el libro se realizara era que su adorable madre doña Julia y hermana de Juan disfrutara de la publicación, pero lamentablemente murió meses antes de salir, sin embargo, pudo ofrecer sus propios testimonios y leer el borrador, apuntó.
Otras de las causas era el 60 aniversario de la entrada del Padre Juan Montalvo al seminario Pontificio Santo Tomas de Aquino, a la edad de 15 años.
También resaltó el trabajo fotográfico que aparece en el libro, apuntando que tienen varias procedencias y datan de diferentes etapas de la vida del Padre Juan. La mayoría de ellas guardadas por su madre Rosa y ella que se ocuparon de colocarlas en lugares especiales para su conservación.
El senador José Rafael Vargas, en su intervención afirmó que Moca ha sido privilegiada de tener un hombre de las cualidades como ser humano, como sacerdote, religioso jesuita, académico y como dominicano ejemplar que fue el padre Juan Montalvo.
Refirió que “una de las cualidades que sin duda todos resaltan en este hombre de bien es su sencillez, su humildad, su austeridad. Y esto resalta más, al tratarse de un hombre cultivado en el dominio de varias lenguas; con estudios profundos en las ciencias sociales, de las cuales hizo gala de sus conocimientos en las aulas de la Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra de Santiago”.
Asimismo, agradeció el gesto de las familias Montalvo-Arzeno y Perdomo Montalvo, de venir a su pueblo a poner en circulación una obra testimonial sobre el padre Montalvo, precisamente el día en que cumpliría 76 años si estuviera físicamente entre nosotros, señaló.
Igualmente ofrecieron sus testimonios el padre José Núñez, el doctor Luis Emilio Montalvo Arzeno, Luis Brache y Julio Brache, sobre este gran ser humano que nació en Moca en el 1936 y murió el 09 de enero de 1979, con apenas 42 años de edad.
Al finalizar del acto el senador José Rafael Vargas, entregó varios ejemplares del libro del Santuario Sagrado Corazón de Jesús a los familiares del padre Juan Montalvo, el cual también fue parte de la construcción del templo histórico de Moca.
