El robo de autos en México registró récord histórico en 2011, dicen aseguradoras
México.- El robo de automóviles asegurados en México creció 3.4% en 2011, para un total de 82,510 unidades, cifra que supuso un récord histórico, informó hoy la Asociación Mexicana de Instituciones de Seguros (AMIS).
«Tenemos el dato histórico más grande de robo de autos al haber llegado a 82,510 en 2011, que supera al anterior récord registrado en 2010, con un total de 79,731 vehículos», dijo en rueda de prensa el director general de este organismo, Recaredo Arias.
El robo de vehículos en el país creció 87.5 % en los últimos seis años al pasar de 43,992 en 2005 a 82,510 en 2011, indicó la AMIS en un comunicado.
Arias señaló que en mayo de 2011 se registró un aumento máximo de 18% anualizado de robos de automóviles, aunque esta cifra descendió en la segunda mitad del año para cerrar en 3.4%.
Las entidades con el mayor número de robos de autos fueron encabezadas por el estado de México con 17,672, seguido de Nuevo León con 13,589, lo que significó incrementos anuales de 3.1% y 35.2%, respectivamente.
En tercer sitio se ubicó el Distrito Federal con 11,451 unidades, lo que supuso una reducción de 19% respecto al año anterior.
Arias indicó que se logró recuperar 33,604 unidades, lo que representó un crecimiento de 20% respecto a los vehículos recobrados en 2010.
«La proporción de la recuperación contra el robo se encuentra en un 41%, contrastando desfavorablemente contra el 49% logrado en el 2005», indicó el directivo.
Añadió que en los últimos seis años queda un total acumulado de 232,406 autos que no han sido localizados.
Además, indicó que el robo con violencia de vehículos representó el 54% de los casos, cifra superior al 47% del año precedente, aunque en los estados de Sinaloa (noroeste) y Zacatecas (centro norte) el robo con violencia alcanzó el 70%.
Asimismo, Arias señaló que en 28% de los estados se concentran 80% de los robos.
El directivo de la AMIS detalló que el automóvil más robado en 2011 por tercer año consecutivo fue el Nissan Tsuru, con 14,506 unidades sustraídas, seguido de lejos por la pick-up Nissan (3,662) y el Jetta de Volkswagen (2,767).
El robo de autos representó para las aseguradoras el pago de unos 9,000 millones de pesos (unos 681 millones de dólares) el año pasado. EFE
